Land: quarterly positive
The Fondiaria Insurance has achieved in the first quarter 2000 net income of 53.5 billion lire, while the entire ‘99 profit was 246.7 billion. Operating income amounted to 100.3 billion against 71.7 billion throughout the year ‘99. Life premiums rose by 14%.

Cir, excellent results in the quarterly
Cir recorded in the first quarter 2000 profit of 3.6 billion pounds compared with losses of 11.1 billion that had been recorded in the same period last year. Sales however rose by 25.2%. The title is virtually unchanged (+0.05%) and is traded on the closing price yesterday (4.05 euro).
